AUDUBON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT STAFF

SHERIFF - Todd Johnson
Sheriff Todd W. Johnson was elected sheriff in 2000. Sheriff Johnson served as Chief Deputy prior to his election to Sheriff.

Audubon County Sheriff's Department since 1989 and served in law enforcement since 1987.

CHIEF DEPUTY - David Beane
Chief Deputy David Beane was appointed Chief Deputy in 2006. He was a patrol deputy prior to his appointment to Chief Deputy. David is the Jail Administrator for the Audubon County Jail.

Audubon County Sheriff's Department since 1990 and law enforcement since 1988.

Deputy- Jason Rokke

Serving Audubon County Sheriff's Department since 2011 and law enforcement since 2011.

Deputy- Andy Klein

Serving Audubon County Sheriff's Department as a Full-Time Deputy since 2024 and law enforcement since 2006.

Deputy- Coby Gust

Serving Audubon County Sheriff's Department as a Full-Time Deputy since 2024 and law enforcement since 2004. Deputy Gust became Audubon County's K9 Handler in 2025.

Deputy- Nicholas Wimmer

Serving Audubon County Sheriff's Department since 2025 and law enforcement since 2022.

Mechi - Audubon County K-9 Officer

Mechi is a Belgian Malinois/Dutch Shepard that has been working with the Audubon County Sheriff's Office since 2020.

Melissa Thygesen

Civil Clerk/Dispatcher Supervisor- serving Sheriff's Office since 2008.

Deb Steffes

Full-time Dispatcher/Jailer - serving Sheriff's Office since 2004.

Kate Lebeck

Full-time Dispatcher/Jailer - serving Sheriff's Office since 2019.

Lisa Powell

Full-time Dispatcher/Jailer - serving Sheriff's Office since 2020.
